1. Information We Collect
When you use tab-with.me, we may collect the following information:
- Account Information: Username and hashed password. Email is optional and not required.
- Guitar Tabs: Tabs you create and save to your account.
- Blog Interactions: Comments you post, comment likes, and poll votes.
- AI Prediction Data (opt-in only): If you explicitly enable data collection, we may store:
- AI predictions (predicted string/fret positions)
- Your corrections to AI predictions
- Audio fingerprints (derived features only — we never store raw audio)
- Session Data: Authentication tokens (JWT) stored in httponly cookies.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Providing the Service: Your account data, tabs, and comments are used to operate tab-with.me.
- Improving AI Models (opt-in): If you consent, anonymized prediction data and corrections help improve our guitar tab AI.
3. Data Collection Consent
All AI-related data collection is opt-in by default. No prediction data, corrections, or audio features are collected unless you explicitly enable them in your profile settings. You have granular control over:
- Collection of AI predictions
- Collection of your corrections
- Collection of audio features (fingerprints only)
You can change these settings at any time from your profile menu.
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored in a database on our hosted server. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
5. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your profile menu. When you delete your account:
- Your account, saved tabs, AI prediction data, settings, and consent preferences are permanently deleted.
- Comments you have posted on blog posts are retained for conversation continuity, but your username is replaced with "[deleted]" and all association with your account is removed.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- View your data through the application
- Delete your account and associated data
- Revoke data collection consent at any time
- Control granular opt-in/opt-out for each type of data collection
7. Third Parties
- Google reCAPTCHA: May be used for spam prevention on comments. When enabled, it is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Hosting Provider: Our server hosting provider may have access to server logs as part of standard infrastructure operations.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to third parties.
8. Children's Privacy
tab-with.me is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
